Casa Charneca is located in the hills of Santa Barbara de Nexe near Faro, an excellent location from which to discover the Algarve and to enjoy a complete rest.
We offer luxury rooms in a villa in a secluded area, but still within easy reach of nearby beaches and the wide variety of ameneties the Algarve offers.
The Algarve is a very popular area and so can get quite crowded. This is why our location is so special, as it allows the best of both worlds. You can retreat to the nearby mountains lying just behind the coastal strip for peace and tranquility in our luxury apartments and explore the Algarve from this sanctuary.
With 200 km shoreline and more than 300 days of sunshine per year the Algarve has become one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe. Extremely clear water, spectacular cliffs with hidden creeks, endless sand beaches, protected by dunes and a mild Atlantic breeze make this place so special.
The EFEE (European Foundation for Environmental Education) has awarded 1/3 of all beaches at the Algarve the “Blue Flag” for quality of water, sanitary installation, parking place, lifeguard and other available services.
There are many other less known and untouched places also worth while being discovered, offering the same soberness and quality of water.
The Algarve is the best known Portuguese region to most European tourists and offers long stretches of clean white-sand beaches broken up by stupendous rugged cliffs and fabulous grottoes together with a variety of holiday resorts complete with year round sunshine.

Faro is the capital of the Algarve. An attractive town with many points of interest. Faro has some Moorish and Roman ruins dating from the 13th century, but most buildings date from the second half of the 18th century after an earthquake in 1755 devastated the town.
Faro offers a wealth of restaurants, cafés, bars and clubs to suit all tastes as well as a beautiful old theatre, offering a full programme of dance, music and drama.
Along the coast from Faro, you will come to Albufeira passing on your way, glorious coast line, terrific beaches and around 20 great golf courses.
